East Cleveland police cancel Amber Alert for 2-year-old taken inside of a stolen car

The child's mother told police that her ex-boyfriend stole her car while her child was inside.

EAST CLEVELAND, Ohio — The East Cleveland Police Department has located the two-year-old who was inside of a vehicle stolen on Monday morning in the 16000 block of Elderwood Avenue. 

According to police, two-year-old Major Johnson was found safe Monday afternoon after being taken while sitting inside of his mother's 2010 white Ford Fusion around 12:20 p.m. 

Police did not say whether the suspect, 40-year-old Gerald Toney, has been arrested or if he is in custody at this time.

No other information is available at this time.
