Cleveland's beer scene is booming and a new brewery is ready to make noise.
Collision Bend Brewing Co. is ready to open on Cleveland's East Bank of the The Flats.
The brewery is located on Old River Road in the former Watermark restaurant, right next to Roc Bar and catty corner to the Odeon.
The result of a partnership between Luke Purcell and Zack Bruell, the location features a state-of-the-art, 14,000 square-foot brewery and restaurant, complete with a spacious deck and outdoor bar overlooking the Cuyahoga River.
The diverse menu features a lineup of Collision Bend's craft brews, a list of local guest beers (think Brew Kettle, Market Garden and Great Lakes), as well as a selection of bottles. The drink menu also has an offering of specialty cocktails, such as a strawberry and jalapeno-infused tequila.
Right now, Collision Bend's brew list entails eight beers, including the Lake Erie Sunset (blood orange American wheat), East Bank IPA (American India Pale Ale) and Sixth City Alt (German amber ale).
The food menu boasts a vibe of California street food, upgraded with twists and touches of refinement. There are wood-fired pizzas with twists such as brussel sprouts and braised pork, as well as a lengthy list of finger foods, like lamb tamales with salsa verde, sauerkraut balls served in a cocktail sauce and pulled pork tacos.
Inside, the restaurant seats 200 while the outdoor deck accommodates an additional 150. There are three total bars and a "brewer's room" for private parties and events. Boats can also dock outside along the deck.
Collision Bend is named after the commercial ships that navigated the narrow, winding passages along the Cuyahoga River.
The restaurant and brewery will first open to the public April 17.
