Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland Run and Walk Downtown This Weekend

Help raise money for the CITY DOGS Cleveland shelter, and get some exercise, too

Runners, take your mark... If you want to help our area dogs, this is the perfect opportunity. The annual CITY DOGS Cleveland 5k run and 1 mile walk kicks off Sunday morning.

This year, there is an in-person race, as well as a virtual option. If you choose to participate virtually, you can run or walk anywhere you'd like. The in-person event kicks off at Edgewater Park Kite Field June 13 at 9 a.m.

Runners are asked not to bring their furry friends to the in-person race at Edgewater Park.

If you still need to register, you can do so the day of the race starting at 8 a.m. Pre-registration closes Saturday at noon. Registration costs $40, and proceeds go to Friends of CITY DOGS Cleveland, who provide financial assistance for the animals at Cleveland Animal Care and Control, which includes daily enrichment opportunities, medical care and supporting the CITY DOGS adoption and volunteer programs.

There are some cool prizes for teams and individuals who raise the most fundraising money. You can find out more information, and register, on CITY DOGS Cleveland's website.
