GUIDE | 22nd annual Greater Cleveland Sports Awards to be held Wednesday at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse: Here's what you need to know

The festivities are at a new home for 2022. We have your list of nominees and what you need to know on one of the biggest nights of the year in Cleveland sports.

CLEVELAND — The Greater Cleveland Sports Awards are back and at a new home in 2022. The 22nd annual event is set for Wednesday, March 23 at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The awards fundraiser, supporting Greater Cleveland Sports Commission, celebrates a year of athletic achievements in Northeast Ohio from high school stars to professional athletes.

The festivities are back at an in-person setting after being virtual in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. 

Here's what you need to know:

Who is hosting the awards? NBC Sports host and correspondent Maria Taylor will serve as the host for the 2022 Greater Cleveland Sports Awards.

What time does the event begin? Cocktail hour starts at 5:30 p.m. with the awards program slated to begin at 7:30 p.m.

What awards are being handed out? Here are the list of the awards, nominees and some of the presenters (winners will be listed in bold):

Male High School Athlete of the Year, presented by University Hospitals Sports Medicine

  • Drew Allar - Medina High School, Football
  • Tommy Bebie - Rocky River High School, Football
  • Danny Young Jr. - Shaker Heights High School, Basketball

Female High School Athlete of the Year, presented by University Hospitals Sports Medicine

  • Kathryn Randorf - Gilmour Academy, Volleyball
  • Lanae Riley - Archbishop Hoban, Basketball
  • Alayna Tessena - Highland High School, Volleyball

Male Collegiate Athlete of the Year, presented by H. Jack's Plumbing & Heating Co. "The Super Plumber!"

  • Dustin Crum - Kent State University, Football (Midview High School)
  • Marreon Jackson - Arizona State University, Basketball (Garfield Heights High School)
  • Alex Phillip - John Carroll University, Cross Country (St. Vincent-St. Mary High School)

Female Collegiate Athlete of the Year, presented by H. Jack's Plumbing & Heating Co. "The Super Plumber!"

  • Adelaide Aquilla - The Ohio State University, Track & Field (Magnificat High School)
  • Dayna Denner - University of Toledo, Softball (Cuyahoga Heights High School)
  • Julia Walz - Bowling Green State University, Volleyball (Brooklyn High School)

Professional Athlete of the Year, presented by Bally Sports Ohio

  • Darius Garland - Cleveland Cavaliers, Guard
  • Myles Garrett - Cleveland Browns, Defensive End
  • Jose Ramirez - Cleveland Guardians, Third Baseman

Cleveland Clinic Sports Medicine Courage Award

  • Robbie Boyce - St. Ignatius High School, baseball. Award will be presented by Maria Taylor.

Lifetime Achievement Award, presented by Union Home Mortgage

  • CC Sabathia - former Cleveland Indians pitcher. Award will be presented by Kenny Lofton.

Best Moment in Cleveland Sports, presented by JACK Entertainment

  • Award to be announced. It will be presented by 3News' Jim Donovan and former Fox 8 sports anchor John Telich.

Sports Development Award, presented by Citizens

  •  Topnotch Management - Tennis in The Land
