Investigators suspect foul play in death of Cory Barron

An eight-month investigation by former FBI officials has led them to believe the death of Cory Barron was a result of foul play.

An eight-month investigation by former FBI officials has led them to believe the death of Cory Barron was a result of foul play.

According to documents issued via International Research Group, investigators believe Barron was "incapacitated or killed and dumped into the trash chute during the Jason Aldean concert at Progressive Field July 18, 2014 and that his death was not the result of a drunken accident or suicide."

Barron's body was found in the Lorain County Landfill in July 2014. Cleveland police confirmed the body was in a dumpster that had been "close to" Barron's section at the concert.

The Lorain County Medical Examiner was not able to determine Barron's manner of death, though the autopsy showed no signs of foul play.

Documents also state that there was no indication Barron deliberately or accidentally entered the trash chute. They also reveal that a witness at the concert claims to have seen Barron having "words" with another man. The witness said the man and several of his friends followed Barron when he left his seat during the concert.

Concert-sponsor LiveNation is reportedly refusing to comply with investigators, who have issued a subpoena for ticket information to identify names of those who sat in Barron's section during the concert. Investigators are continuing attempts to identify concert attendees who sat there.

The Barron family is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and conviction regarding Barron's death.
