But could the Westlake native's Northeast Ohio homecoming end with his very own Rocky-esque engagement?
Speaking to 3News' Stephanie Haney on the "3 Things to Know" podcast, Paul was asked about his relationship with his on-again, off-again girlfriend, model Julia Rose. And despite Rose recently adding Paul's surname to her Instagram handle, the 24-year-old YouTube star revealed that the couple isn't married -- at least not yet.
“We are not married but I see that coming for sure," Paul said. "I got her a nice promise ring/pre-engagement ring."
Could Paul propose as this Sunday, creating a headline-making moment following a potential victory over Woodley in his hometown? He wouldn't say for sure, but he also wouldn't rule it out.
"I plan on proposing sometime soon but we’ll see what happens," he said with a smile. "But yeah, we’re in love. It’s pretty dope.”

The potential for an engagement remains a mere possibility, what is certain is that Rose will be sitting ringside as Paul takes on Woodley, a former UFC welterweight champion. And despite Paul entering the contest as a betting favorite, that won't stop the nerves from flowing in his cheering section.
“She’ll be there, front row. She gets really nervous for these fights," Paul said. "She gets more nervous than I am. I think [she] and my mom are sitting next to each other and they’re going to be holding each other and praying.”
