No injuries reported in Hough neighborhood house fire

The house fire is located at E. 68th Street and Hough Avenue.

CLEVELAND -- Crews battled a fire in the city's Hough neighborhood Thursday morning.

The home is located in the 6700 block of Dunham Avenue.

Cleveland Fire Lt. Mike Norman said the fire was well-involved when crews arrived. He said they had been told the house was occupied, but crews could not locate anyone upon arrival.

WKYC streamed live from the scene. Watch it again below:

Crews attempted a rescue for the unaccounted occupant in the back of the home, but the resident eventually showed up to the scene. Norman says there are no reported injuries.

"When they showed up here, it was fire out of every window, stem to stern, heavy black smoke pouring out of the attic. This was a pretty serious fire," Norman said.

Norman also said the first hydrant crews attempted to use wasn't functioning properly, so it took longer than usual to get the blaze under control as they ran a relay.

Norman said the fire's cause has not been determined, but reminded citizens to be mindful when using space heaters this time of year.
