CLEVELAND — It all started with gunfire at a gas station on East 145th and Kinsman around 11:48 p.m. Thursday.
When authorities responded to the scene, the victim, a 26-year-old man, was found in the parking lot with a gunshot wound to his face. He was taken to the hospital where he later died. His name has not been released.
Police say "preliminary information" indicates the suspect had been located in the 3700 block of E. 142nd Street. When officers responded to that location, shots were fired and the suspect died at the scene. His name has also not been released.
Authorities with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Department also responded to the scene at E. 142nd street, and will "assume the investigation into the officer-involved shooting.'
No additional details were immediately available.
