CLEVELAND — A 7-month-old child with a blood alcohol level more than three times the state limit for an adult to drive was admitted to a local hospital,Sunday evening.

At the hospital, officials treated the child with .75mg of Narcan believing she had initially overdosed. However, that wasn't the case and it was revealed that she had blood alcohol level of .25.

According to reports, the child's mother dropped her off with her aunt while she went to work. When she returned, the mother noted that the girl was tired and not acting like herself.

At home, she stated her daughter's condition worsened and that's when she decided to take her to the hospital. She told officials she has no clue how alcohol got into the child's system.

A social worker with the hospital made contact with the aunt who also claimed to be unaware of how the child became intoxicated. Another relative told officials that they believed the alcohol was put in the child's bottle because she was crying and wouldn't sleep.

The child was admitted to University Rainbow Babies and Children's Hospital for observation and treatment.

The incident remains under investigation.
