CLEVELAND — A water main break at a CubeSmart near the area of South Marginal Road and East 55th Street spilled over onto I-90, causing flooding and traffic issues on Thursday evening.
Cleveland Police, Ohio State Highway Patrol, and the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office were all on the scene as parts of I-90 east and westbound were closed due to the high water.
According to a spokesperson from Cleveland Water, the break occurred in a 12-inch water main. The water is shut off at the broken main, however water pressure to area businesses and The Shoreline apartments is at full pressure.
Two Cleveland Police cruisers stalled out in the floodwaters.
Cleveland Public Power is also on hand because a pole outside of CubeSmart is leaning.
South Marginal is also currently closed between E. 55th Street and Marquette. Crews are trying to clean up the mud on the road.
