There is a movement sweeping the country to raise gun violence awareness.
Supporters are encouraged to wear orange Thursday-- organizers believe orange represents the value of human life.
There will be gatherings in Cleveland and Akron Thursday to support the movement.
Gun Violence Awareness Day began in 2013 after 15-year-old Hadiya Pendleton, an honor student in Chicago, was shot and killed one week after marching in President Obama's inaugural parade.
The day will focus on listening. awareness and action on gun violence.
In Akron, community leaders will gather at 2 p.m. at 954 Copley for a proclamation.
In Cleveland, there will be a Wear Orange Party at Ninja City Kitchen and Bar from 6:30-9 p.m.
