WTAM names David 'Bloomdaddy' Blomquist as new afternoon show host following passing of Mike Trivisonno

Blomquist comes to Cleveland after working as the morning show host at 1170 WWVA in Wheeling, West Virginia.

A new voice will be heard on Cleveland's airwaves starting this Monday.

iHeartMedia has announced that Wheeling, WV morning show host David "Bloomdaddy" Blomquist will take over the 3-7 p.m. slot on Newsradio WTAM 1100. Blomquist will replace Mike Trivisonno, who had been WTAM's afternoon drive host from 1996 until his passing last October

Blomquist has hosted mornings at Conservative Talk 1170 WWVA Wheeling WV since 2007 and has been syndicated to iHeart’s 910 WLTB Parkersburg WV, 640 WHLO Akron OH and 570 WKBN Youngstown and St. Barnabas Broadcasting’s 1320 WJAS Pittsburgh.

He began his career as a television sportscaster in Wheeling and Charleston WV and later anchored morning news at WTRF-TV before joining WWVA. He also hosted afternoons at Talk/Sports “The Watchdog” 1600 WKKX Wheeling.

During his 25-year run as the host of "The Mike Trivisonno Show" on WTAM, the man known as "Triv" was voted “Best Talk Show Host” by Scene Magazine and The Achievement in Radio Awards. The Cleveland Plain Dealer named him the “Voice of Cleveland,” Cleveland Magazine named him “One of Cleveland’s Fifty Most Interesting People,” and he was a 2003 NAB Marconi finalist for “Personality of the Year.” He also raised over $5 million dollars for local charities during his career, including Coats for Kids, whom he hosted his annual “Vegas Show Benefit” in support of.
