Ohio State Highway Patrol: 18-year-old woman ejected from motorcycle, killed after crash in Brooklyn Heights

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS, Ohio — An 18-year-old woman has died following a motorcycle accident on Saturday night in Brooklyn Heights.

Ohio State Highway Patrol officials say the one-vehicle crash happened at around 7:36 p.m. when a motorcycle traveling westbound on West Granger Road veered off the right side of the road and struck a curb. 

The driver, Savannah Kapis of Valley View, who was wearing a helmet, was ejected from the motorcycle. EMS officials took Kapis to MetroHealth Medical Center where she was pronounced dead. 

At this time the crash is under investigation. 

The Ohio State Highway Patrol was assisted on scene by Brooklyn Heights Police, fire and EMS, as well as the Cuyahoga Heights Police Department.
