2 dead, at least 1 hurt following fiery car crash in University Heights

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio — Two people are dead and at least one other is hurt following a fiery car crash in University Heights Saturday afternoon.

Details are scarce at this time, but police confirm the incident involved two vehicles around the intersection of Cedar and Brockway Roads. 3News photos from the scene appear to show the cars wrecked near a utility pole before bursting into flames.

Multiple "occupants" of the vehicles were killed, while another was taken to a local hospital for unspecified injuries. Authorities have not indicated what led up to the crash, calling the situation "an active investigation."

Minutes prior to the incident, Ring doorbell camera video from neighborhood resident Scott Petty showed a gray sedan speeding along Cedar with police sirens briefly heard in the background (watch below beginning at the 27-second mark). A crash is then heard, followed by first responders rushing to the area.

UPDATE: One of the victims has been identified as 20-year-old Marlon Jarel Emory.
