Watch again: Cuyahoga County Board of Health gives latest coronavirus updates

The county was recently removed from Ohio's 'watch list,' but remains on high alert.

CLEVELAND — Officials from the Cuyahoga County Board of Health gave the latest updates regarding the ongoing coronavirus pandemic Friday afternoon.

On Thursday, the county was removed from Ohio's "watch list" for the highest COVID-19 health alert in the state. However, Gov. Mike DeWine says the Cleveland area should still be on guard as cases continue to rise.

Last week, County Executive Armond Budish outlined how officials would enforced the governor's face mask mandate, and indicated egregious violations could potentially result in jail time. During that press conference, health experts also said Cuyahoga hospitals were at roughly 80% capacity, and said today those figures remain roughly the same with positive tests still going up.

"We cannot stress enough that what happens in our community over the next weeks and months has everything to do with what we do as individuals and organizations," Dr. Heidi Gullet said. "We ask you to please wear a mask, social distance, forego any gatherings."

3News streamed the entire Zoom press conference live both on our website and on our Facebook and YouTube pages beginning at 2:30 p.m. You can watch it again below:
