FBI: Is missing Ashley Summers ID theft 'suspect'?

The man and woman are wanted for stealing wallets and purses, then using those identities and stolen check to get money at various banks.

ID=21330069The FBI and several law enforcement in Rhode Island and Massachusetts are seeking to identify two suspects in connection with a series of crimes.

One of whom officials say strongly resembles a missing teen, Ashley Summers, then 14, who was reported missing from the West 96th Street and Madison Avenue area in Cleveland on July 9, 2007.

A surveillance video of an alleged credit card suspect in Rhode Island began making the rounds and members of Summers' family here in Northeast Ohio saw it and think it could be Ashley, now 21.

The man and woman are wanted for stealing wallets and purses, then using those identities and stolen checks to get money at various banks. Several incidents in Warwick, Rhode Island, involved the theft of checks and identifications taken from unattended vehicles parked at gyms while the victims were inside working out.

On October 22, 2014, the male and female suspects committed identity theft and obtained money under false pretenses at numerous Citizens Banks and Santander Banks in East Providence and Pawtucket, Rhode Island, and Shrewsbury, Massachusetts. Several thousand dollars were fraudulently obtained in these transactions.

Officials describe the woman as a white female, medium to heavy build, with brown hair and blonde highlights. Summers has a tattoo of "Gene" enclosed in a heart on her upper arm.

Officials describe say the man is a white male, thin build, with brown hair, a thin beard, and mustache.

The vehicle is a newer model Kia Optima, tan or silver in color, with no front license plate.
