SHAKER HEIGHTS — Investigators are still trying to determine what caused Monday's fire at Fernway Elementary School in Shaker Heights.
Although there were no injuries, the fire caused the building's roof to collapse.
A restoration crew is now working to remove anything salvageable from the school. Then, an engineer will make the ultimate decision on whether the building can be saved.
Fernway was built in 1929 and was not required to have a sprinkler system.
