A man wanted for the murder of an 11-month-old baby in Pennsylvania was arrested by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in Garfield Heights, Monday.

Police say Derrick Bass, 29, was left at a home with the baby Saturday, July 13 while the victim’s mother went to work. When she returned, the mother found the house burglarized. Bass and his two children and her daughter were also missing from the home.

The mother later found her child unresponsive in a play pin hidden under blankets.

Bass was named a suspect in the murder and the NOVFTF was enlisted to help locate and take him into custody.

He was found in the 1300 block of Oak park Blvd  in Garfield Heights.  He is currently being kept at the Cuyahoga County Jail awaiting extradition back to Pennsylvania.

He faces charges of homicide, abuse of a corpse, receiving stolen property and tampering with evidence.
