Crews responded to Marco’s Pizza located in the 6600 block of Smith Road just before noon for reports of a fire.
At the scene, heavy smoke was observed coming from the pizza shop. Neighboring businesses, Convenient Food Mart and Mertie’s Strudel Shop were evacuated.
The fire was contained however both neighboring businesses suffered smoke damage.
There were no injuries to the occupants or firefighters. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
The Middleburg Heights Fire was assisted by neighboring departments.
