Portion of Cuyahoga Valley National Park closed for nesting bald eagles

The pair of eagles has nested in the park since 2007.

BRECKSVILLE, Ohio — A portion of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park will be closed to pedestrian traffic until August due to a pair of nesting bald eagles.

The nest is located in the Pinery Narrows portion of the park, north of Station Road Bridge Trailhead. The railroad tracks and a 30-foot right-of-way on both sides of the tracks are closed to foot traffic from the state Route 82 bridge north to the Fitzwater Maintenance Yard for the Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad. The closure will remain until July 31.

The Ohio and Erie Canal Towpath Trail, bridle trail and Cuyahoga River remain open.

The pair of eagles has nested in the park since 2007, resulting in 15 eaglets.
