KENT, Ohio — Kent State University President Todd Diacon is making a show of support for the school's students of color.

"Please join us and @KentStateAlphas as we march for unity with University President Todd Diacon" Black United Students wrote on Twitter, "President Diacon has agreed to march with us and engage in civil discourse with the Kent State community. KSUPD will also be marching with us. We hope to see you there!"

President Diacon released a letter to Kent State's student body in the first week of September following the events of the messages left on the Kent State rock.

"I want to thank the members of the community who have reached out tonight. We are aware of the repeated vile, hurtful messages that are threatening to our Kent State community, specifically our Black community," President Diacon wrote, "Because of the repeated nature of these messages we are investigating several potential actions, including fencing off the Rock, installing security cameras, and even its removal."
