More than 10,000 residents went without power on Wednesday evening in Lake County.
According to FirstEnergy, an electrical pole fire near a railroad underpass on Route 306 triggered the outages, which affected Willoughby, Mentor, and Mentor-on-the-Lake.
A Facebook post sent by the Willoughby Fire Department just after 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday had stated that power could be out for approximately 12 hours. However, FirstEnergy reported minimal outages by 9:45 p.m.
