Police are currently investigating after a 16-year-old boy was shot and killed Friday night in Painesville.
A post on the department's Facebook page says the boy was shot on the 500 block of Mentor Ave. around 9:37 p.m. His identity has not yet been released.
Officials say they are questioning several acquaintances of the teen who were in the area at the time of the boy's death. No information regarding possible suspects has been given at this time.
The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is assisting in the matter.
