The Eastlake Police Department has issued a statement following reaction to the controversial arrest of 20-year-old Richard Adams.
Since the charges were announced, police have been inundated with emails, call and other forms of communication from people frustrated with the case.
On Sunday, the Department took to Facebook to address the situation.
The post read, "To attack people within the system to achieve a certain outcome is not what justice is about."
The statement continued, " We appreciate the impact that this story has had on the community and beyond but we expect people to be civil in expressing their disagreement and/or support of what has and will take place."
Adams was charged with felonious assault after assaulting a teen that was allegedly caught molesting a young boy.
