KIRTLAND HILLS — KIRTLAND -- A woman was seriously injured when her car was struck by a wrong-way driver, now identified as a former Cleveland sports radio host.
According to reports, a 2015 Toyota Rav 4 was traveling eastbound in the westbound lanes of Interstate 90 when it crashed head-on into a 2011 Chevrolet Impala, just east of state Route 306 around 3 a.m.
The driver of the Chevy Impala, 56-year-old Samia Campagna of Alliance, was transported to Hillcrest Hospital with incapacitating injuries.
The driver of the Rav 4, 33-year-old Willard Burge IV, of Wickliffe, suffered minor injuries.
Burge, an ex-Cleveland sports radio host, is facing charges of aggravated vehicular assault and OVI, according to Willoughby Municipal Court records. Burge previously worked on air at ESPN Cleveland WKNR and WTAM-1100.
His passenger, 32-year-old Erin Stockdale, did not suffer any injuries.
All individuals involved were wearing their seatbelts at the time of the crash.
