Madison Police have announced that Patrol Officer Michael Huffman passed away on Wednesday morning during his shift.
The 52-year-old died of apparent natural causes.
In a message posted on the department's Facebook page, Chief Troy McIntosh notes that Huffman joined the Madison Village Police Department in 1999, serving the community for over 19 years.
"He was a dedicated officer and will be greatly missed by the men and women of the department. Our condolences and thoughts are with his family during this difficult time," McIntosh writes.
Funeral details have not been announced as of yet.
