Singer Billie Eilish donates autographed t-shirts to support Willoughby- Eastlake Schools' levy campaign

The Grammy Award-winning singer donated three autographed t-shirts.

EASTLAKE, Ohio — Billie Eilish is definitely not the bad guy in Lake County.

In a shocking surprise, the Willoughby- Eastlake School District announced Tuesday that Grammy award- winning singer, Billie Eilish, donated three autographed t-shirts to their school levy campaign.

In November, the school's levy was defeated by a 54%-46% margin. Following the vote, the district immediately began making cuts. There is a vote scheduled for March on yet another school levy and if that one fails, there will be even more cuts.

The announcement was made on the district's YouTube. During the video, officials explained how they acquired the shirts and how they would be used to fundraiser for the levy.

The connection was made through North High school music instructor Devra Levine. A close family friend interviewed Eilish's mom on what it's like to be the mom of a pop star. Levine got the contact and originally asked Eilish's mom for a simple message of support from Billie.

Eilish's mom apologetically told her that wouldn't be possible for undisclosed reasons. So Levine was shocked to find the three t-shirts waiting for her a few weeks later.

The district was gifted two orange shirts and one blue shirt. The shirts will be used in an online auction and a traditional raffle.

The raffle tickets can be purchased in the following quantities.

  • 1 ticket for $3
  • 4 tickets for $10
  • 10 tickets for $20

The drawing for one of the orange shirts will take place Thursday, March 12. For a full list of ticket purchasing locations, click here.

The remaining two shirts, one orange and one blue, will be available in an online auction. At the time of publication, the online auction link had not yet been published.

The money earned from the two fundraisers will be used "to purchase yard signs, print literature, advertisements, robo calls, and more," according to the levy's website.
