According to police, officers located a group of individuals breaking into vehicles at Willoughby Hills Towers Complex in the early hours of Sunday. Police say they attempted to block the suspects with their vehicles, but the group was able to maneuver around the patrol car.

Police initiated a brief pursuit into Euclid, but "once the speed, location and driving of the suspect vehicle posed too much risk to other motorists/innocents," it was terminated.

"Multiple vehicles had the windows broken out and it is suspect that they were attempting to steal the vehicles," said officials from the Willoughby Hills Police Department

New details released Monday indicate a total of five vehicles were broken into -- including three Kia and two Hyundai.

One of the untouched vehicles had a steering wheel lock, which is being offered by WHPD to residents that own a Kia or Hyundai vehicle. Individuals who want to receive a steering wheel lock can visit WHPD with proof of residency and vehicle registration.

Anyone with information on the incidents is asked to call the Willoughby Hills Police Department at 440-942-9111.
