LORAIN, Ohio — A 42-year-old man was arrested in Lorain on Thursday morning by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force.
Randy Palos was taken into custody near East 33rd Street in Lorain after being wanted by the Lorain Police Department for multiple warrants as well as the U.S. Marshals Service due to violations of his court-ordered supervised release.
"The Lorain Police Department takes crimes of violence very seriously and our Police Department and the citizens of the city of Lorain will not stand for offenders such as this in our community," said Lorain Police Chief Jim McCann.
According to U.S. Marshals officials, a warrant was issued for Palo's arrest on Jan. 23 after he allegedly broke into the home of an ex-girlfriend and assaulted her.
Within a week, Palos was accused of two other separate domestic violence incidents against the same woman, resulting in more warrants being issued on Jan. 30.
Just eight months ago, Palos was released from federal custody after being convicted on federal drug charges.
Palos is currently being held at the Lorain County Jail.
"Every day this suspect was out on the street meant another day where violence could occur, especially for the victim of his assaults. Quick work by the Lorain Police and our task force led to a quick apprehension and a safer community in the city of Lorain,” said U.S. Marshal Pete Eliott.
