Aut-O-Rama drive-in movie theater planning to open on May 12

The theater announced their opening date along with new policies to ensure guest safety in a post on Facebook.

NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio — Get your popcorn ready!

The Aut-O-Rama drive-in movie theatre is planning to open their doors on May 12 for their 56th season. Only this time, there are a bit more rules in place.

In a post on their Facebook page, Aut-O-Rama announced a list of new rules and regulations amid the COVID-19 concerns. The rules and regulations are, of course, to ensure both the safety of guests and employees of the theatre.

"Please be patient with us as we learn new and innovative ways to serve you in a safe way," the post states. "This is new for all of us, and we expect to make changes to our operations as we learn the best way to operate in these special circumstances."

Tickets will be available via online presale only at this time and capacity will be at 50 percent to begin with.

For the time being, outside food and beverage will be permitted in order to provide a "contactless experience" for guests. Concessions are still available to be ordered and paid for either online or in a walk-up style window. To ensure everyone's safety, there will be no refills and guests will not be permitted inside the concessions area.

Precautions around lines for the restroom are being addressed with social distancing rules as well as additional portable toilets.

A full list of the new rules and regulations can be found on the theatre's Facebook page

Those found to be disobeying the new policies may be asked to leave without a refund.
