Amherst Police searching for teen missing nearly a week

The Amherst Police Department is seeking the public's help locating a missing teen. 

17-year-old Elijah Mykal Smeck was last seen in Lorain on Thursday, February 25. He was dropped off on Collins Drive and has not been seen since.

According to reports, Elijah has a history of running away, as recently as last year, but has never stayed away for this long. 

Police did not provide any descriptive information on Elijah outside of the fact that his 18th birthday is approaching and that he attends Lorain County Joint Vocational School (JVS).

Anyone with information on Elijah or his whereabouts is to contact Detective Murphy or message the Amherst Police Facebook Page

Police reiterate that anyone assisting Elijah in his "unruly behavior" will be prosecuted.
