Lorain County Community College honors Class of 2020 with flag display shaped like a graduation cap

LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio — After years of hard work, graduation is a paramount milestone in the lives of countless students, one that many look forward to. However, with the onset of the coronavirus pandemic, the Class of 2020 has been robbed memories and the privilege to walk the stage.

In an effort to bring joy to their graduates, Lorain County Community College is honoring their students with a flag display. 

On Monday, volunteers placed 47,00 flags, in the shape of a graduation cap, on the school’s grounds in honor of every student to every graduate for the college. The cap’s tassel was marked by 2,185 yellow flags honoring this year’s graduates.

The college is slated to host a virtual graduation ceremony Saturday, May 16 at 9: 30 a.m.  For more information, click here.
