Lorain County teacher charged for sex with student

Conway admitted to having a sexual relationship with the student.

EATON TOWNSHIP -- A Lorain County teacher is facing charges for allegedly having a sexual relationship with a student.

According to the Lorain County Sheriff's Office, 24-year-old Sarah Conway is charged with four counts of sexual battery.

Conway, a teacher at Willow Creek Positive Education Program on Durkee Road in Eaton Township, approached the Lorain County Sheriff's Office to file a harassment complaint against an 18-year-old Willow Creek Education Program student.

Conway admitted to having a sexual relationship with the student.

Investigators looked through Conway's text messages and learned she started having sex with the student when he was 17. When the two broke up, texts were sent between the pair revealing their sexual relationship, as well as harassment from the student.

The student has not been charged, and the school released the following statement:

"On March 21, allegations of an inappropriate relationship between a staff member and student at Positive Education Program (PEP) Willow Creek located in Grafton were surfaced to PEP administrators. Upon learning this information, PEP immediately reported the incident to law enforcement and the staff member was placed on administrative leave. This sort of alleged conduct directly contradicts with PEP’s mission to help troubled and troubling children learn and grow and will not be tolerated. In accordance with policy and legal standards, PEP has awaited the outcome of the police investigation, which just became known today. The process is underway to terminate this individual’s employment with Positive Education Program."
