The female student refused to get into the car despite the man claiming to be her grandfather.

The North Ridgeville Police Department is investigating an attempted abduction of a third-grade student that occurred on Friday afternoon.

According to police, a third grade female student was approached by an older male in a dark colored vehicle who attempted to entice her into his car after she got off the bus.

Here is a picture of the car that the North Ridgeville Police Department is looking for:

The female student refused to get into the car despite the man claiming to be her grandfather. The young girl was able to make it to her babysitter's home and then told her babysitter what happened.

The student's account of the story was corroborated by a second student who observed the incident.

The male is described as being elderly with grey or white hair and driving a dark colored sedan.

This incident is under investigation and the North Ridgeville Police Department is asking the public to be observant and vigilant during bus pick-up and drop-off times.
