NORTH RIDGEVILLE, Ohio — Two men are in custody in North Ridgeville after attempting to abduct a real estate agent earlier this week.

Officers from the North Ridgeville Police Department were called to a house on Homecrest Drive address on Saturday. The realtor, a 54 year old female, told police that she was waiting to show a home on the street when two males approached the house in a silver SUV.

After a brief conversation, the driver asked for a business card. When the realtor returned to give him her card, the driver grabbed her by the arm and attempted to pull her into the vehicle.

The male passenger yelled “Get her in here!” and “let’s go!”

After a struggle, the realtor was able to break free, get into her vehicle and lock the doors. The two male suspects fled the area.

The victim sustained bruises and cuts on her arm.

Detectives from the North Ridgeville Police Department identified 45-year-old David Helton of Vermilion and 37-year-old Michael W.B. Evans of Henrietta Township as suspects in the case. Both were arrested on Wednesday and charged with Abduction, a felony of the 3rd degree and Assault, a 1st degree misdemeanor.

Helton and Evans are currently in the Lorain County Jail to awaiting arraignment at Elyria Municipal Court on Thursday.
