Police asking for public's assistance in finding suspect who robbed, injured elderly woman in Lorain

Police say the violent robbery occurred around 9:30 p.m. in the 1800 block of East 34th Street.

LORAIN COUNTY, Ohio — Authorities in Lorain County are asking for the public's help in finding the suspect of a violent robbery of an elderly woman.

According to a post on the Lorain County CSI (Crime Scene Identification) Facebook page, police say that on Sunday, November 29, at around 9:30 p.m. a male suspect knocked the elderly female victim to the ground as she was exiting a residence located in the 1800 block of East 34th Street in Lorain. The fall caused the victim multiple injuries to her face.

The suspect, described as a light skinned Black or Hispanic male, possibly in his 30's, wearing a "covid mask" and unknown clothes, proceeded to steal the victim's belongings including a purse and cell phone.

The female victim's cell phone was an iPhone 7 with a pcture of her granddaughter on the home screen. Her purse is described as a Lilac colored pebble leather Coach Jes Tote.
