On Thursday morning, Cleveland Water said the water is safe to drink after no pathogens were shown in samples taken at 40 locations within the advisory area.

Cleveland Water warns customers that they may still experience a cloudy appearance in their water.

"For the next few days, some customers may experience cloudy water. The cloudiness is caused by extra air in the distribution system and plumbing. The water is safe to drink. Flushing plumbing by running all cold water faucets, including tubs and showers, at the same time for 5 minutes may help clear the cloudiness," said Cleveland Water officials.

The boil advisory was activated Tuesday night after a water main break on Drake Road in Strongsville. Nearly 17,000 homes were impacted by the advisory, which led to the cancellation of school for Brunswick City Schools on Wednesday.

Anyone with brown or orange discolored water that doesn't clear up after flushing household plumbing for five minutes is asked to call the Cleveland Water Quality Line at 216-664-2639.

Customers with a water emergency after hours can contact Cleveland Water's 24-hour line at 216-664-3060.
