Grand Jury indicts Wadsworth teen for murder of 98-year-old woman

Gavon Ramsay is accused of strangling Margaret Douglas to death back in April.

A Medina Grand Jury has returned a nine-count indictment for the Wadsworth High School student accused strangling a 98-year-old woman to death.

Gavon Ramsay, 17, is charged with four counts of aggravated murder, two counts of murder, one count of kidnapping, one count of aggravated burglary, and one count of gross abuse of a corpse.

Authorities discovered the body of Margaret Douglas in the closet of her home back in April after she had been reported missing. Her death was ruled a homicide, and Ramsay was later arrested in Cleveland after Douglas' wallet was reportedly found in his home.

Ramsay remains in jail on $1 million bond. He will be tried as an adult in Medina Common Pleas Court after waiving his right to a hearing to keep his case in juvenile court.

An arraignment date has not yet been set. Ramsay faces up to life in prison, if convicted.
