MEDINA, Ohio — A 23-year-old man faces several felony charges, including arson, for his role in a fire that happened at a barn in Medina earlier this summer.

Medina fire and police departments were called to a structure fire at 410 East Smith Road on June 6.

A fire in a storage barn was quickly extinguished. The barn was owned by the City of Medina. "Santa's House," a decorative box trailer used during the annual Medina Candlelight Walk festivities, was ruined.

The building and its contents sustained over $100,000 in damage.

Medina police began a criminal investigation into the fire which was determined suspicious by the fire department.

Detectives quickly received several tips and discovered evidence to support that 23-year-old Tristan Rosen set the fire.

Rosen has been charged with aggravated arson, a first degree felony and arson, a fourth degree felony.

Rosen has admitted to setting the fire. He was arrested on September 3 in Akron and is currently in the Medina County Jail awaiting trial.
