Sharon Township — A Medina man has died after being hit by a car Friday night.
The Ohio State Highway Patrol says 53-year-old Dare Flickinger was crossing Boneta Road near State Route 18 in Sharon Township when he was struck by a Honda Fit traveling southbound around 9:29 p.m. Flickinger was transported to Medina Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The driver of the car has been identified as 42-year-old Ryan Pinkus, of Rittman. Authorities believe alcohol was a factor in the crash.
The accident remains under investigation. No charges have been filed at this time.
