CodeRED,one of the nation's top vendors for emergency notification systems is expanding across Northeast Ohio.

In a press release issued Monday, the city of Parma described the new partnership as a collaborative effort between the city of Parma fire and police departments, the Parma Regional Dispatch Center and Cuyahoga County.

The city of Cleveland has had a CodeRED alert system since June 2016.

The service provides notifications to residents regarding emergencies, weather events and community news on a variety of platforms and devices.

All residents are advised to sign up or re-register with the new system by March 15 to ensure receipt of all future notifications.

To assist in the process, all current subscribes will receive notifications in the coming weeks alerting them of the system update and urging them to re-register.
