SANDUSKY, Ohio — On Friday, Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine announced that the state's amusement parks, waterparks, casinos, and racinos may reopen on June 19.
One Northeast Ohio destination is getting in a little ahead of the game.
Kalahari Resorts and Conventions in Sandusky has announced that it will partially reopen to guests on Friday, June 12, with a full reopening on June 19. The full reopening will include the resort's indoor and outdoor waterparks.
The 'partial reopening' will feature many of the resort's dining, entertainment, spa and retail options. Admission to Kalahari’s outdoor pools and the Safari Animal Park will be included with overnight stays prior to June 19.
Kalahari Resors and Conventions says it has taken many steps to ensure a safe environment, including associate wellness initiatives, enhanced sanitation measures using hospital-grade disinfectants and operational changes that allow for social distancing and minimized contact. The resort will follow expert reopening guidance and policies from state and local authorities, including the Responsible Restart Ohio guidelines.
As more information becomes available, Kalahari will continue to make adjustments to support best practices for the safety and well-being of Ohio guests and associates. For full details on the resort’s approach to a safe getaway, visit www.kalahariresorts.com/safety.

To celebrate the reopening, Kalahari is offering 20% off summer stays. Guests who reserve before June 30, 2020 receive 20% off overnight stays before September 6, 2020. For full offer details and to book visit KalahariResorts.com.
