Severe weather causes power outages for thousands of homes in Northeast Ohio

Over 7,000 customers are currently without power

Friday's severe weather has caused over 7,000 FirstEnergy customers across Northeast Ohio to be without power. 

As of 10:15 p.m., here are the outage breakdowns by county:

  • Cuyahoga 1104
  • Medina 4683
  • Stark 273
  • Summit 540

A Flash Flood Warning is in effect for parts of Lorain County until 11:15 p.m. this evening and until 12:45 a.m. on Saturday for Medina County. Several counties have also been under Severe Thunderstorm Warnings as well.

In addition, The National Weather Service says winds gusted to 68 mph at Burke Lakefront Airport at 7:30 p.m. this evening with the storm that moved through downtown Cleveland.
