13-year-old Cleveland boy arrested with loaded gun after leading Solon police on chase in stolen vehicle

The chase began at Aurora Road westbound near Camp Industrial Parkway.

Detectives with the Solon Police Department are investigating after a 13-year-old led officers on a pursuit through the city with a stolen vehicle as your first sentence

According to officials, the incident began around 3:17 p.m. when officers were alerted by a stolen vehicle, a gray 2019 Toyota 4 Runner SUV, near Harper Road traveling. An officer attempted to stop the vehicle near Aurora Road westbound near Camp Industrial Parkway, but the vehicle sped off.

At the intersection of Aurora Road and Harper Road, the stolen vehicle collided with another car, and the driver of the stolen vehicle ran off. Police say that the driver then ran up to another car, brandished a firearm, and attempted to carjack the citizen. Police say the citizen was able to get away.

Members with the Solon Police Department searched the area for approximately an hour and 45 minutes before locating the suspect hiding outside of Pressco Technology. 

A loaded semi-automatic firearm was recovered. The suspect was taken to an area hospital for minor leg injuries caused by a police dog bite.

The suspect was taken to the hospital for minor injuries and will be referred to Cuyahoga County Juvenile court for consideration of felony charges related to Receiving Stolen Property and Attempted Robbery.

Police say the driver of the vehicle hit at the intersection of Harper and Aurora was treated at the scene for minor injuries. 

This case remains under investigation. No further information is available.
