U.S. Attorney's Office indicts 11 in Ohio who illegally reentered country after deportation

Two of those eight were originally sent back to Mexico after being convicted of delivering cocaine and trafficking marijuana, respectively.

The United States Department of Justice has indicted 11 people who were found in Ohio after allegedly reentering the country illegally after previously being deported.

WKYC has also learned eight of these individuals (all Mexican citizens) were taken into custody as part of the ICE raid on two Corso's Flower and Garden Centers in Erie County back on June 5.

Two of those eight, 49-year-old Cutberto Gallardo-Trujillo and 52-year-old Josefino Alvaro Leon-Herrera, were originally sent back to Mexico after being convicted of delivering cocaine and trafficking marijuana, respectively. The other six were also deported but have no known criminal records.

The raid at Corso's saw 114 workers arrested and sent shock waves through the community. The government has also launched an investigation into the garden center, which claims it was not aware the workers were undocumented.

The U.S. Attorney's Office also indicted three undocumented immigrants from Mexico, Guatemala, and Honduras, respectively. The were all taken into custody in late May, before the raid at Corso's took place.

The exact fate of the more than 100 other workers arrested at Corso's remains unclear, although many are expected to be deported as well.
