COLUMBUS, Ohio — Protests continued today in Ohio's capital city, with several prominent figures facing action from the local police.

Congresswoman Joyce Beatty, Franklin County Board of Commissioners member Kevin Boyce, and Columbus City Council President Shannon Hardin were among the hundreds of protestors marching in Downtown Columbus Saturday.

Earlier on Saturday, Columbus police declared an emergency in the downtown area due to the ongoing protests over the killing of Minneapolis man, George Floyd.

Demonstrations have popped up all over the United States this week after George Floyd was killed on Monday by a police officer.
