DEA Agents execute search warrants at five Northern Ohio Rite Aid pharmacies

Investigators were looking for 'potential irregularities in dispensing pills'

Drug Enforcement Administration agents executed search warrants on five Northern Ohio-area Rite Aid pharmacies on Tuesday.

The U.S. Attorney's office confirmed to WKYC that agents raided the following pharmacies:

  • 1009 Park Avenue in Mansfield
  • 334 West Perkins Avenue in Sandusky
  • 99 Whittlesey Avenue in Norwalk
  • 4 Walton Street in Willard
  • 332 S. Main Street in Marion

The Department of Justice would not give specific details of the operation, other than to tell WKYC that they were probing 'potential irregularities in dispensing pills.'

A spokesperson for Rite Aid told WKYC in a statement: “Earlier today, representatives from the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) visited certain Rite Aid stores.  Rite Aid is cooperating with the DEA and has no further comment at this time.”

Anyone who believes they have information relevant to this matter is encouraged to contact the DEA via email at Cleveland.Diversion@usdoj.gov.
