Gov. Mike DeWine announces virtual Spirit Week in Ohio: See the schedule

Yes! Pajama Day!

COLUMBUS, Ohio — With Ohioans spending these last few weeks staying at home amid coronavirus concerns, Gov. Mike DeWine has found a creative way to keep smiles going.

“In an effort to have some lighthearted fun, we’re having a virtual Spirit Week in #Ohio," Gov. DeWine tweeted Sunday.

It all kicks off with Pajama Day on Monday. You can see the week's full schedule below...

  • Monday: Pajama Day: Stay in your PJs all day – even during meetings.
  • Tuesday: Garden Day: Plant your gardens.
  • Wednesday: Salute Your Hero: Doctors, nurses, truck drivers, firefighters, teachers. Dress up like your hero, draw a picture or share an appreciation video.
  • Thursday: Spirit Day: Show your love for your favorite school or sports team.
  • Friday: Pizza Day: Order pizza or make your own.

Gov. DeWine is asking everybody who participates to tag their pictures with #SpiritWeekOhio, #InThisTogetherOiho and #StayHomeOhio. The state may feature your photos on their social media platforms.

This "virtual Spirit Week" kicks off one week after Gov. DeWine announced his decision to keep schools closed to slow the spread of coronavirus.
