COLUMBUS, Ohio — Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine had initially planned on holding a 2 p.m. press conference Thursday, but that has changed.

DeWine’s office said the June 4 press conference has been canceled “out of respect for today’s memorial service for George Floyd in Minneapolis.”

Any updates for today will be released to the media and posted online, DeWine's office noted.

DeWine was expected to reveal reopening details on attractions like zoos and museums at today's press conference.

Floyd's memorial service will take place from 1-3 p.m. CST. Thursday with Rev. Al Sharpton delivering the eulogy. It will also be aired on national television.

Another service is set for 11 a.m. Saturday, June 6 in North Carolina, followed by two more in Houston, Texas, on June 8 and 9.
