Just days ago, Hezekiah Perkins—a United States Army Korean War veteran from the Cincinnati area—passed away at the age of 90. Now, the cemetery that will lay him to rest is asking residents to help give him a proper send-off.

According to Spring Grove Cemetery, Perkins has no surviving family in the area, and therefore no immediate family members will be able to attend his Saturday funeral. Because of this, Spring Grove is requesting any community members who are able to come to the cemetery to pay their respects, regardless of if they knew Perkins personally or not.

Officials say Perkins will be buried with full military honors at the request of his distant relatives, with cemetery employees acting as pallbearers. In addition, the Baxter Vault Company has agreed to upgrade Perkins' burial vault to a veteran model for no additional cost.

Anyone who would like to attend is encouraged to contact the cemetery at (513) 853-1035 for more information. The ceremony begins at 3 p.m.
